Shift Show – Terms of Use

Last updated: November 2025

Welcome to Shift Show, a scheduling app designed to help shift workers manage and view their work schedules. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

  1. License & Authorized Use: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Shift Show solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or use the app for competitive purposes. Any unauthorized use may result in termination and legal action.
  2. Updates & Modifications: We may update, change, or remove app features at any time without liability. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We may also modify these Terms from time to time.
  3. User Responsibilities: You agree to:
    • Use the app only for lawful purposes.
    • Ensure your use complies with your workplace’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Not misuse, overload, or interfere with app operations.
Since Shift Show does not require a login or account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any locally stored data.
  4. Advertising & Monetization: Shift Show is a free, ad-supported app. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree that:
    • Advertisements may appear within the app experience, including banners, interstitials, or other formats.
    • We aim to keep ads to a minimum and not disrupt the user experience.
    • We may use limited, non-identifiable technical data (such as device type, app version, or approximate location) to deliver relevant advertising in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
    • We do not endorse or guarantee third-party ads or linked services, and you interact with such ads at your own risk.
  5. Privacy & Data Protection: Shift Show does not require users to log in, register, or provide personal information such as names or email addresses. The app may collect anonymous or aggregated technical data (for example, app performance metrics, crash logs, and ad-related identifiers) solely to improve functionality and support advertising. Data may be shared with trusted third-party providers like Google AdMob or Firebase in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Your privacy is handled in compliance with POPIA and applicable data protection laws.
  6. Shift Pattern Compatibility: Shift Show supports 8-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour, and mixed-shift patterns. It is not compatible with split-shift patterns, where a user works more than one shift per day.
  7. Limitation of Liability: Shift Show is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We are not liable for missed shifts, scheduling errors, or data loss, nor for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Because the app is free to use, our total liability for any claim will not exceed zero (0) South African Rand.
  8. Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jittercat (the owner of Shift Show), along with its directors, owners, developers, employees, affiliates, partners, and any associated personnel, from any claims, damages, liabilities, or losses arising from your use or misuse of the app or any violation of these Terms.
  9. Intellectual Property: All content, source code, trademarks, and design elements are the exclusive property of Shift Show and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited and may result in legal action.
  10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution: These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. In the event of a dispute, you agree to first attempt informal resolution with us. If unresolved, disputes will be submitted to arbitration in South Africa in accordance with local arbitration rules, unless otherwise required by law. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
  11. Weather forecast: Shift Show uses a third-party service provider for weather forecasts. While we provide this information for convenience, Shift Show makes no guarantees regarding its accuracy and is not responsible for any reliance on or consequences resulting from such forecasts.
  12. Force Majeure: We are not responsible for service delays, interruptions, or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control — including natural disasters, internet outages, or regulatory actions.
  13. Copyright Notice: Copyright Notice: © 2025 Shift Show. All rights reserved. All content, software, databases, design elements, and documentation within the app are protected under applicable copyright and trademark laws. Shift Show is owned and operated by Jittercat.
